Suitable skin care for every age phase

There are many care products with a nourishing, lifting, moisturizing or regenerating effect. Suitable products are available for every age phase. Collagen and elastin fibers provide fresh, young and elastic skin. As we age, the production of collagen and elastin decreases, causing lines and wrinkles to appear.

Young skin

During puberty, the skin is often marred by pimples under the influence of hormones. These have largely disappeared again around 20 years ago. This is the age when the skin is at its best. The skin looks fresh, young and without wrinkles. Collagen and elastin fibers in the deeper layers of the skin ensure supple, soft skin. Cells are continuously renewed and the skin can retain moisture well. Over the years, the production of collagen and elastin decreases. The existing fibers become harder and break, causing lines and wrinkles to appear.

Moisturizing day cream

At this age, an anti-wrinkle cream is still unnecessary and preventive lubrication is pointless. Young skin may need moisture. Weather influences, air conditioning or central heating can dry out the skin. The skin may look a bit dull. A day cream that hydrates for a long time makes the skin look radiant again. Some creams also protect the skin against UV radiation and the effects of emotional stress. Stress causes irritations and skin aging.

The first wrinkles

The first wrinkles become visible in people in their thirties. Some people get wrinkles faster than others. This has to do with, among other things, talent and lifestyle. The skin of a smoker or someone who spends a lot of time outdoors ages faster. Sun and air pollution damage the hereditary material in the nucleus of the cell. As a result, the cell can divide less easily and the self-healing function of the skin is also reduced. Wrinkles make the skin look older, but the color and texture of the skin also play a role in this.

Products with anti-aging

Anti-aging products contain substances that help with cell renewal. They also contain antioxidants that can repair damage at the cellular level. Anti-aging products address all aspects of aging simultaneously. They slow down the aging process.

Skin care for mature skin

During and after menopause, the skin ages faster because less estrogen is produced. The production of elastin fibers decreases, causing the skin to look drier, weaker and thinner. The skin also sags a bit. The skin now needs products that regenerate and provide more firmness. These products prevent the breakdown of collagen, strengthen the weaker skin barrier and give the skin more volume.

How can you prevent skin aging?

Skin aging can be prevented by protecting the skin against UV rays all year round, relaxing on time, sufficient sleep, a healthy diet, not smoking and good skin care. Shortages are supplemented with the right products. In addition, sunlight (in moderation) produces endorphins. This has a calming, pain-relieving effect, gives energy and ensures a good mood. And that is visible on the skin.

Skin aging due to sunlight

Staying in the sun too much and for too long without protection increases the risk of skin cancer and ages the skin. Do not sit in the sun without protection, even in the spring. The skin is not yet used to the sun and burns more quickly. Take at least factor 15 in the spring and factor 30 in summer. A higher factor is not necessary because it does not provide much more protection than factor 30. A higher factor increases the risk of skin irritation. Apply a new layer of sunscreen every two hours and also do this after swimming. Don’t sit in the sun between noon and 3 p.m. because that’s when sunlight does the most damage.
